Explain the Concept of Decision Making 30 Min
Distribute one Metacard to each of the trainees and ask
trainees to write down one big decision they currently have to make in the
field of work or studies. Emphasise that the information on the card should
really matter and have consequences. Highlight that the contribution will
remain confidential.
Scan cards and identify 5-6 tough decisions. Put them
onto a Flipchart. Change the wording so that confidentially is kept. Highlight
that trainees are in an age where they have to take really tough decisions with
consequences in their future.
Then
explain how decision making can improve one’s life making better decisions.
Ask the trainees to form into 5-6 groups. Each
group takes one tough decision to take. Provide a hand out which they fill out.
Briefly go through the hand out, which explains
3 C process: Challenge-Choice-Consequences. Let them apply the same to the
tough decision and prepare within 20 mins. Present the results in the class.
Highlight that jointly developed and reflected
decision making is useful, since it gives more opportunities to reflect, get
information.
Then introduce trainees into the Decision making
process.
