Emphasise that the decisions need to be aligned with
the goals of an individual. Also ask them what they think about taking
decisions. Whether it is easy or not.
Also remind that
decision making can be stressful. Sometimes, one might want/need to take decisions
against the wishes of the family, which can be hurtful, stressful for everyone.
One needs to keep in mind the potential consequences of taking such decisions.
Highlight that girls in particular need to seek support, if they want to study
further or get married further. Also highlight that teachers, NGOs, friends,
community leaders can be supportive and help in convincing parents. Show them
the following two points to minimise the stress using the following visual aid.
