Family and community support:

It is important for the trainers to inform the students that issues of drug abuse is not a matter of shame. It should be discussed at schools and work places so that students know the bad effects of drugs. If there is an addict in the family, problems should be discussed with appropriate health workers/ rehabilitation centre so that timely treatment can be given to the abuser. Unless students have the correct information, they will not be able to help others. It is unlikely that the drug abuser will be willing to seek for help themselves. In that case, it should be the family members and community that supports the abuser to seek help.
