Understand Clear Communication

Understand Clear Communication                                                    30 Min
Exercise: Distribute one Metacard to each trainee. Ask trainees to write down in clear sentences how to put jam on a piece of bread and make it ready to be served. Collect cards and pick from a box.
Select one card and ask a trainee to read out the instructions. You as a trainer will follow exactly as indicated the instructions till the end. Follow the instructions from another card and show, that while both trainees have done the same assignments, the instructions were different and the result is different. Ask the trainee whether he/she is happy with the results and execution of their instructions.
Highlight that in day-to-day situations, we often assume that our communication is clear and that the receiver of the message understands it the way we want. Ask trainees what happens if we do not clearly communicate. What happens to the sender and what to the receiver? How do they feel?
