6. Health/fitness: What health related plans
do the trainees have to ensure that they remain healthy and fit?
7. Community Level: What goals do they have to
contribute to a better world?
Ask the trainees to take the handout and fill
out the form. Ask them to set their goals by looking at your long-term goals
and fill up the table. Then, work those down to shorter time dimensions.
Highlight that these criteria can be changed but that it is important that
goals set are realistic. All the
trainees should try to fill up at least three rows- Work and another they feel
convenient.

Ask 5 trainees to
present their goals and ask how it feels
Setting own goals does not mean they cannot be changed. These goals
should always be reviewed and take into account that situations change,
technology changes, new ideas come.
However, highlight that
being accountable to these goal settings is important. Also discuss what needs
to be done if there are barriers.
Besides setting goals, it
is also important to set and implement these goals in a specific way. Use
individual Metacards, where steps are individually mentioned. Mix up the steps
and have the trainees decide in which order they belong and why (identify the
first step to get the group moving). Trainees should be prepared to discuss and
describe their reasoning for the order. For example: you cannot set goals if
you don’t analyze where you are now…. You can’t develop a timeline if you don’t
know what your obstacles are etc.
