Perceptions of Men and Women

Visual Aid 2.1.3: Perceptions of Men and Women
Is it cultural – is it biological?

·        Women give birth to babies. Men do not.
·        Men are the main bread earners.
·        Girls have higher pitched voices than men.
·        Cooking comes naturally to women.
·        Men can be doctors, women should be nurses.
·        Men are good at Maths/Science. Women at language, care giving and history.
·        When one thinks of an engineer or technician, one hardly thinks of women.
·        Physical Work is for Men. Women cannot do physical work or carry heavy loads.
·        Pre-school and primary school teachers should be women.
·        Women are multi taskers, men are specialists.
·        Women and men complement each other: Men think, while women ensure the emotional part in the family.
·        Men are more logical, women are more emotional and intuitive.
