Our role in controlling Eve Teasing

What role can trainees play when they see eve teasing? Work towards trainees making a clear commitment to a) avoid eve teasing themselves and b) prevent eve teasing when possible.

Visual Aid 2.1.12: What can you do?
Our role in controlling Eve Teasing
I as a woman
·        Confront the teaser
·        Tell teasers to stop and seek help
·        Speak out about the incident
·        Communicate that teasing is illegal
·        Highlight your feelings of being hurt
·        Clearly tell the victim it is not her fault
·        Fight Eve teasing with others

I as a man
·        Treat any woman with respect
·        Do not stare at women
·        Don’t participate! This is not cool!
·        Communicate to others that eve teasing is wrong and harms a woman
·        Pro-actively intervene and tell the teasers to stop
·        Tell the victim it is not her fault
·        Fight Eve teasing with others
Imagine, it is your sister, mother, daughter!

Highlight the importance that we as individuals are committed to show respect towards others and that it is our role too to prevent any form of disrespect and harassment.

Introduce the case study below and ask trainees why Alam should change his attitude.
