Explain regulations for wages, benefits, overtime payment

·       Consult supervisor
·       Inform appropriate person for leave and provide contact details
·       If leave is granted, ask for leave pass
·       For extended leave period:  inform the employer before the expiry of the leave

Briefly summarise that working hours and leave are regulated and employer is obliged to provide leave. However, the employee needs to inform well in advance about taking leave so that employer can make adjustments within enterprise.

Introduce the topic on wages, overtime payment and benefits.
Ask trainees about different forms of payments and wages. List the various forms.

Wages are:
·        Payments made by an employer for labour or services
·        Are fixed in advance
·        Should be mentioned in contract
·        Include bonus, paid leave, holiday or overtime work
·       Does not include food, transport, accommodation
Forms:
·        Hourly
·        Daily
·        Monthly
·        Piece rate
·       Projects/assignments

Refresh with the trainees working hours and overtime. Highlight that overtime wages are different to regular wages. Any work after regular hours and on holidays/ weekends are considered as overtime work.
