Explain the Concept of Diversity and Inclusion        45 Min

Introduce diversity as a theme of the session. Highlight that diversity is an important characteristics of Bangladesh’s identity. It needs to be highlighted that everyone has equal rights and should be seen and considered as a human being, regardless of age, sex, race, religion or ethnicity. The Constitution clearly refers to diversity and emphasises tolerance and respect towards ‘the other’ is fundamental.
Discuss, what this ‘other’ could be and observe, jointly with the trainees the various answers. Diversity and inclusion go hand in hand and should be understood to go hand in hand. Inclusive societies and organisations embrace diversity. Exclusive societies discriminate against and keep ‘others’ outside.  Ask trainees whether they know of some examples in Bangladesh, where people/groups are excluded.
