1 Instructions for Training Service Providers (TSPs)

1.1       Trainees Evaluation Details

TSPs will administer attendance and assignments during the training (formative) and conduct some evaluation at the end of the training programme (summative). A format will be provided by B-SkillFUL.

1.2       Text Box: Delivery of Sessions

All Sessions are structured in the same way: Stating Learning Objective-Introduction into Terms and Concepts- Application through Activities and Assignments – and Summarising-Review of learning (see graph 2).

1.3       Methods of Instruction

The aim of the manual is to provide instructional materials, which encourage an open and participatory learning environment for students. It is strongly believed that knowledge needs to be applied for learning to be more effective, as it enables students to apply concepts in day-to-day life and work situations. The course encourages discussions through intensive group work rather than tests and assessments. The manual provides a variety of training materials, including:

Session Plans
A session plan is available for each topic. A session plan is a detailed description of the activities, timing, methodology and resources used to guide trainees toward a specific learning objective. However, the trainers are encouraged to use their own creativity and modify the plans.
Visual Layouts
For each topic, visual layouts have been developed. The visuals should be enlarged and transferred to the appropriate media, i.e. flipchart, poster paper, power point presentation depending on availability of resources and competency of trainers. Trainers can also use real objects and models as instructional media.
Increased Participation through Activities
To ensure that students can apply concepts in real life situations, activities will be introduced. Some materials will be provided, however, trainers can also modify the assignments according to the available resources i.e. internet resources, available materials. Such activities include:
-   Brainstorming
-   Class discussion and debates
-   Role Play
-   Group work and assignments
-   Interactive lecture with questions and answers (Q&As)
-   Exercise and practical application
-   Educational games
-   Simulation exercise
Written Test/Practical Test
Very few quizzes and assessments have been developed, which also contain Multiple Choice Test Items. For some modules, evidence resulting from group work and individual assignments should be collected instead.
Information sheet

Where more background information is required, information sheets for trainers have been developed. These information sheets are materials with an intention to give trainers the opportunity to deepen their understanding on and access to relevant information through which they can update their knowledge.
